About Safety Sam

Sam started his carrier in the trucking industry as a Local Dispatcher, methodically moving his way up in the ranks year after year. He has held every position including Operational Manager, Regional Manager, Terminal Manager, Operations/Safety Consultant, and finally Director of Safety. He has worked for some of the major trucking companies in the Tri-State area throughout his career, eventually landing himself at one of the Top 50 2020 For-Hire Carriers, where he currently is the Director of Safety. During the last 5 years, he has increased the amount of drivers by 150% (8000+ drivers), grown his back office team to 26 and increased driver attendance at Safety Meetings. He is responsible for 11 DOT Carrier Numbers and performs Compliance Audits for 13 DOTs. His responsibilities include: developing aggressive safety culture; ensuring DOT and OSHA Compliance; implementing DriveCam and Electronic Logs; continuing and improving driver training; decreasing frequency and severity of losses; etc.
